Men & Women in Sheds, Loughborough

If you are 50+ and interested in learning or sharing skills in a workshop environment (and meeting and chatting with some very nice people!) then Men & Women in Sheds is for you!

Men & Women in Sheds is located at:
Charnwood Shed, Unit 9, Oaks Industrial Estate,
Festival Drive, Loughborough. LE11 5 XN

GOOD NEWS! The Shed will be open again
from 28 September.

Things are going to be a bit different however. First of all to attend you must pay an annual membership fee of £50. (Contact Owen the Shed Co-ordinator to pay or discuss)
Secondly the days are different:
Monday 9.30 – 12.30 Men
Monday 12.30 – 15.30 Women
Tuesday 9.30 – 12.30 Women
Tuesday 12.30 – 15.30 Men
and because numbers are now restricted to 15 you will need to book a slot – again with Owen.

Over the last couple of months Owen and several Shedders have been working to make the Shed Covid-19 safe and also to address various H&S issues and tidy it up. So you’ll see some changes.

Owen says:

Steps have been taken to make the Shed as Covid secure as possible and whilst we can provide hot water for beverages and plated biscuits, cutlery and mugs should be one’s own personal.
Any personal belongings, coats and tools brought into the Shed should be taken away on leaving.
Ultimately, please observe social distancing and take the obvious precautions that we are all by now familiar with. Common sense is all with this situation, PPE should be worn when in close proximity to each other, particularly masks. A Shed session should present no more hazard than a trip to the Supermarket.
Should you be exhibiting any Covid symptoms please do not attend the Shed.
I hope that those of you who wish to attend and partake of the service and support that the Shed offers once more benefit, particularly in these difficult times .

To book a slot or if you have any questions please call 01509 211603 or email the Shed co-ordinator Owen on Owen.Jones@ageukleics.org.uk

Footrest made by Trish & Dierdra

Earlier this year, before lockdown, Trish & Diedra made this smart foot-rest to raise funds for the Shed. “We’re looking forward to the reopening of the Shed.  We have now been going for almost 3 years and miss the company and support we get from all the wonderful Shed community”. More >>

Woodworking
Wood-working and carpentry
Pottery and ceramics
Upholstery & furniture repairs
Gardening

We’re a motley bunch from all backgrounds and abilities. Some have been wood-working all their lives and others are complete beginners. Everyone helps each other.

There’s no fixed schedule or classes. Everyone can do their own project, whether it’s making a simple bird-box, a rocking-horse (requires lots of patience!), garden planters, toys, furniture repairs or creating a fantasy garden combining pottery, wood-working and gardening skills.

If you’d like to give it a try contact 01509 211603 or email the Shed co-ordinator Owen on Owen.Jones@ageukleics.org.uk
